Car hits child in Syracuse, driver takes off

Syracuse Police are looking for a driver who hit a nine-year-old child and then took off.

Police say around 7:15 p.m. Thursday a child was riding his bike on the 200 block of Davis Street when a driver going the other way hit him. The child was taken to the hospital and treated for a broken ankle.

The car is described as a tan or gold four-door sedan with a New York State license plate. Police say the car may have minor damage to the front. It was last seen heading to South Geddes Street from Delaware Street.
