A Salina woman is under arrest after police say she stole more than $100,000 from an elderly woman she was caring for.
Onondaga County deputies say Thursday morning they arrested 60-year-old Mary Catarsano of Kearny Avenue on the charges of felony grand larceny and forgery. Police say Catarsano, a caretaker for an 86-year-old Liverpool woman, forged the woman's signature on checks and used the money for herself. Catarsanoe is accused of doing this several times from 2010 through 2012, and spent more than a hundred thousand dollars of the woman's money.
Catarsano was arraigned in Liverpool Village Court and sent to the Onondaga County Justice Center on $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond.
Deputies say Onondaga County Adult Protective Services and Chase Bank Security assisted detectives with the investigation.
