Carrier employees donate Christmas gifts to kindergartners
Christmas came a little early at Carrier this year.
Thanks to the efforts of employees at Carrier, more than 100 kindergartners from the Seymour Dual Language Academy got a chance to meet Santa and take home their very own gift.
"They get to meet Santa and open the gift from him so it's exciting," Stephen Polera, Principal of Seymour Elementary, said.
This is the 27th year Carrier employees have been providing a little holiday cheer for Seymour Elementary School students. They say it is by far their favorite time of year.
"This is about bringing joy to children who in some cases may not have the Christmas they want. So we want to bring that Christmas to them here," Lou Ann Mann at Carrier said.
Providing a little holiday cheer takes a lot of work. Volunteers at Carrier have been working months to make it all happen but they say it's worth the effort.
"It's great to be able to do stuff for these kids where they are in their lives and you just appreciate the magic of Christmas. You see it in their eyes you see it in their reactions," Jerry Geiss at Carrier said.
Bringing joy to kids at Carrier today, a simple reminder of what the holidays are all about.
