Cause of Fulton house fire under investigation on Sunday

Several families were left homeless by an attic fire in Fulton on Saturday evening. The cause is under investigation

Fulton Fire Investigators plan to take a closer look at the attic of a multiple-family home, to figure out what started a fire there Saturday evening.

The alarm, to 294 West Third Street, came in just before 7:30pm on Saturday evening. Damage was heavy to the attic, and there was extensive water damage to the rest of the two-story house. The Red Cross was helping residents on Saturday evening.

No injuries were reported, though firefighters had to battle Saturday's near 90-degree heat, as well as the flames.
