The Cazenovia funeral director who subjected a 24-year-old woman to inappropriate physical exams will lose his license for six months.

46-year-old Brian Tait previously pleaded guilty to sexual abuse and child endangerment, telling the woman the exams were necessary to work at the funeral home. She was an employee at the time.

He was sentenced to one year of conditional discharge and was forced to pay restitution $200 in surcharges and fees. Orders of protection were also issued.

Tait is the owner of Tait Funeral Home on Fenner Road in Cazenovia.

On the funeral home's website, Tait writes, "In no way will this affect the day to day operations or the ministry we provide to families before, during and after their time of need."
