CBA coach shot in eye 'brought to tears' by support he's received

The popular north side businessman and CBA baseball coach tells CNY Central's Jim Kenyon he was "brought to tears" by the support he's received.

77-year-old Tom Dotterer was back at his store, Salina Liquor and Wine, Tuesday evening, just six days after he was shot in the eye during a robbery on January 23rd.

Wearing a bandage over his right eye, Dotterer appeared in good spirits as he greeted customers who stopped in to wish him well. When he was shot, Dotterer was listed in critical condition. Dotterer refused to discuss the robbery because of the police investigation.

Dotterer said "I do not want one iota of pity" or sympathy, but says he was humbled by all the outpouring of support.

Tuesday afternoon, Syracuse police announced the arrest of the second suspect involved, 23-year-old Delvon Harley. Police say Harley was tasered by a police detective when he jumped out a first floor window at 101 Herkimer Street.

Last week, police arrested one suspect, 19-year-old Shireff Williams. Both are charged with robbery and assault in connection with the liquor store robbery as well as the robbery of two women on Taft Avenue two hours earlier.
