Central New York assists with Sandy storm recovery, how you can help

80 Airmen from the174th Attack Wing of the Air National Guard will take 40 Humvees to help with NYC relief efforts

Now that superstorm Sandy has passed, organizations across Central New York are teaming up to help those impacted by the storm.

Hereâ??s how you can help:

The Red Cross is accepting blood donations. More information is about blood drives this weekend is available here or by calling 1-800-RED CROSS.

Park Central Presbyterian is collecting Hygiene kits for Church World Service this weekend. More information is available on thier website.

The Syracuse's Salvation Army is accepting monetary donations for storm relief online or at 1-8000-SAL-ARMY. You can also donate $10 by texting the word STORM to 80888 and confirming with the word "yes."

Other national sites that are accepting monetary donations: Save the Children, Wolrd Vision, The Humane Society, and Team Rubicon.
