A Chadwicks teen is accused of threatening to kill three children at Donovan Memorial Park and harassing the two younger children.

New Hartford Police say they were called to a report of juveniles being harassed by an older teenager around 2:00 p.m. Monday.

Police say Nicholas A. Neff, 17, showed a knife and threatened to kill a 12-year-old girl and her two younger siblings, a 5-year-old girl and a 4-year-old boy, if they did not leave the park.

The children started to leave the park, but police say the younger siblings needed to use the bathroom facility.

Police say Neff allegedly grabbed the 4-year-old boy by his shirt and threw him into a wall inside the bathroom. He then allegedly grabbed the 5-year-old girl by her shirt and threw her onto the ground.

The 12-year-old girl took her two younger siblings and ran home to their residence on Church Street.

Police say none of the children were injured.

Police located Neff walking in the area and attested him. Neff is charged with five counts of endangering the welfare of a child, three counts of menacing, two counts of harassment, and one count of criminal possession of a weapon.

Neff was arraigned in the Town of New Hartford Court and remanded to Oneida County Jail on $2,000 cash bail.

Neff is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday.

An Order of Protection was issued against Neff with the children being the protected parties.

Police say Donovan Park officials are being advised regarding this incident in regards to banning Neff from the park property.
