Chandler Jones leaves SU; enters NFL Draft

Syracuse football's star defensive end Chandler Jones will not be back for his final season of eligibility with the Orange in 2012. Jones wrote in a tweet at 3:30 PM on Friday

"I have decided to forego my final football season at Syracuse University and enter the 2012 NFL draft."

Jones then added a second tweet "I just want to thank all the Cuse fans, alum, teammates, & coaches for supporting me those 3yrs.", and a third message stating "I'll always bleed orange & blue no matter what."

The 6-foot-5, 265-pounder from Endicott was a three year starter for the Orange after not playing in his freshman season in 2008. He also missed five games this passed season after injuring his leg in the season opener against Wake Forest. He finished this year with 38 tackles in 7 games, including 30 solo tackles, 4.5 sacks, an interception and two forced fumbles.

Chandler, of course, more than likely got some advice from his older brother and former SU player Arther Jones whose in his second year with the Baltimore Ravens. Chandlers other older brother is UFC champion Jon "Bones" Jones.
