Chemical spill in Cortlandville sends six to the hospital

A chemical spill in Cortlandville forced six people to be decontaminated and sent to the hospital for evaluation.

The Cortlandville Fire Department was called to Buck Environmental Labs for an unknown chemical spill on Tuesday afternoon. A HAZMAT team was called to evaluate, and the decision was made to set up a decontamination site for the six people who were in the building at the time of the spill. The six people were able to get out of the building and were the decontaminated and sent to the hospital.

The building was given the all-clear at about 8:30 Tuesday night.
