A Chenango County woman is charged with killing a three-month-old baby girl.
According to the Chenango County Sheriff's Office, 38-year-old Geneia Rood of Baumann Road in the Town of Pitcher, is charged with second-degree manslaughter in the death of Brenna Quinn on September 5.
Deputies say the death was ruled a homicide, and an autopsy revealed the infant had alcohol in her system. Roob was reportedly caring for Quinn at the time of the baby's death.
Rood was arraigned in Chenango County Court and taken to the Chenango County Correctional Facility on $50,000 cash bail.
She is scheduled to re-appear in the Town of Pitcher Court on November 18.
