The investigation into a 15 month old baby girl's death Wednesday afternoon is focused on the actions of her father. State Police were called to 10 Ransom Street just before 3:00 p.m. after it was discovered the child had been left inside a black Chevy SUV for nearly seven hours.
State Police tell reporters on the scene the child's father drove to the grandfather's home on Ransom Street this morning. The father then took a different vehicle to work. "Whether there was a miscommunication has yet to be determined," Keller told The Herkimer Telegram newspaper. Temperatures mid-day Wednesday were in the 70's.
Keller also revealed the girl was found in the rear seat, properly restrained. The name of the child has not been revealed.
