Tourists at the New York state Capitol can take Civil War-themed tours starting this week.
The state Office of General Services says the free weekly tours will highlight Civil War imagery in the downtown Albany building's carvings and murals. It also will examine the connections between the Civil War and the Capitol.
An interpreter in a Civil War costume will lead the special tours on the first Thursday of each month starting June 5 through May 7, 2015.
The New York State Battle Flag Collection at the Capitol also will be included in the tour.
