      CNY Central strikes three year deal for local rights to Atlantic Coast Conference

      CNY Central announced Wednesday it will once again be the home to Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) football and basketball in Central New York, giving CNY Central exclusive broadcast rights to a select number of Syracuse Orange menâ??s football and basketball games. The agreement is a three year deal beginning with the 2013-2014 football season. CNY Central has been home to the ACC for the past two seasons. Syracuse University makes its ACC debut this year.

CNY Central stations reach nearly 600,000 households and 1.5 million people giving the most exposure possible to the ACC Network and Syracuse University in Central New York," said CNY Central President and CEO Chris Geiger.

      "With the move to the ACC comes increased and unprecedented exposure for all of our athletic programs â?? something we are extremely excited about for our incredible coaches, student-athletes and fans throughout the region," said Syracuse University Senior Associate Athletic Director Joe Giansante. "We congratulate CNY Central for winning the over-the-air broadcast rights for the ACC. Not only will fans see selected Syracuse football and basketball games on CNY Central stations, but theyâ??ll also be getting extensive live game coverage and other programming from the entire ACC."

      Starting July 13th Football Saturdays will give fans an in-depth look at the Orangeâ??s new conference. Hosted by CBS college football announcer Tim Brando, Football Saturdays prepares fans for the upcoming college football season with high-profile interviews and an insider experience unlike any other. Football Saturdays will air Saturdays at 7pm on WSTQ-CW6 starting July 13th through August 18th.

      CNY Central will also offer a night of great football programming on WSTM-NBC3 on August 24th, starting with the ACC Kickoff Special at 6pm followed by the pre-season NFL matchup between the New York Jets and New York Giants at 7:30pm.

      On August 29th at 6:30pm on WSTM-NBC3, CNY Central will give fans an inside look at the Orange players and coaches in an hour-long local special hosted by Sports Director Niko Tamurian.

      The ACC conference features one of the richest traditions in all of college sports with 14 football national championship titles and 12 NCAA basketball championships. In 2012 the conference sent six football teams to participate in bowl games, including one BCS Bowl. The ACC finished the 2012 season with two teams ranked in the Top 10 of the USA Today Coaches Poll â?? Florida State (8) and Clemson (9).
