Several Central New York families will make their way to the Big Apple next week to highlight the joys of adoption and raise awareness for the thousands of foster children in New York State and nationwide.
Seven Onondaga County adoptions will be finalized live on NBC's "TODAY" show on November 7 by Hon. Martha Walsh Hood. Eight New York families will be featured on the show, joined by Family Court Judges from Onondaga, Oneida and Bronx Counties.
The Fifth Judicial District and Onondaga County will also host a National Adoption Day celebration on Friday, November 22 at the Oncenter in Syracuse. Since 200, National Adoption Day has grown to feature more than 400 events, with nearly 44,500 adoptions finalized over the past 12 years.
