      CNY Red Cross opens center in East Syracuse for neighbors who lost power in storm

      The American Red Cross of Central New York has opened a reception center in East Syracuse for residents of that area who lost power after Tuesday nightâ??s severe storm.

      The reception center is in the DeWitt Community Room at the East Syracuse Fire Department Station 2, 148 Sanders Creek Parkway, East Syracuse. The room is air conditioned and staffed by Red Cross Disaster Action Team volunteers who are providing water and snacks.

      The Red Cross is also working with local officials to determine if an overnight shelter will be needed for residents without power.
