A Coast Guard boat coming back to Alexandria Bay rescued five people who'd been thrown into the St. Lawrence Seaway when their boat capsized.
The 19-foot pleasure craft tipped after hitting a large wave near Cape Vincent, just before 9:30pm on Saturday evening.
The Coast Guard scooped them out of the water and onto a 25-foot response boat. A Good Samaritan towed the capsized boat to shore, to the Cape Vincent ppublic boat launch.
None of the 5 was wearing life jackets. The Coast Guard is not identifying the boaters, but says they were 'just out' and were heading to a local marina.
