Bat McGrath, a member of the Rochester Music Hall of Fame who has musical roots in the Finger Lakes, is coming to Penn Yan for a Benefit concert on June 7, according to our sister station, WHAM.
The show will benefit the Penn Yan Relief Fund, which will be used to help the people of Yates County not eligible for other types of aid.
The storm severely damaged nearly 150 homes and businesses in Yates County during a severe weather event May 13-16.
The concert will be held June 7 at 7 p.m. at the Keuka College Chapel, and organizers suggest concert goers donate a minimum of $20 at the door.
The Penn Yan Relief fund is not a registered charity. However, several banks will be administering and overseeing the fundraising for the event. Board members will oversee the allocation of funds received.
You can buy tickets at Wegmans stores beginning Friday May 30 for a minimum suggested donation of $20.
In addition to Wegmans, tickets are available at Longs' Cards & Books in Penn Yan, with any leftover tickets will be sold at the door.
Bat McGrath currently lives in Nashville.
He has written songs for some of country music's biggest stars, including Kenny Rogers and Wynonna Judd.
His rise to fame began in the 1960s with the rock band "The Show Stoppers."
McGrath was inducted into The Rochester Music Hall of Fame in 2013.
Bat McGrath's wife, actress Tricia Cast, has been a cast member for 15 years on the daytime drama "The Young And The Restless." She will be signing autographs at the June 7 event.
