Cool weather Tuesday evening is forcing the Oswego County Health Department to postpone aerial spraying for mosquitoes once again.
The Health Department had been planning on spraying the Toad Harbor and Big Bay Swamp area, near the north shore of Oneida Lake.
Mosquito pools in that area tested positive for Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE) earlier this month.
Further evidence of EEE was found in Onondaga County Tuesday but the Onondaga County Health Department is not planning to spray for mosquitoes because of the cooler temperatures.
The Health Department still reminds neighbors to take preventative measures to avoid being bitten by mosquitoes, including wearing socks, long pants and long-sleeves when they know you'll be outside for a long period.
