Cortlandville Ponderosa Steak House employee threatens customer with knife

Fri, 29 Mar 2013 18:25:40 GMT — A restaurant employee arrested after threatening a customer with knife in Cortland County on Thursday.Cortland County Sheriff's deputies say they arrested a Ponderosa Steak House employee after he threatened a customer with a butcher knife. They say 51-year-old Virgil C. Brown, of Cortland, threatened the customer after an argument.Restaurant employees called 911 and deputies quickly responded to the scene. Brown immediately surrendered the knife and was taken into custody.Deputies say he took the knife from the restaurant kitchen.He is scheduled to be arraigned in the Town of Cortlandville Court on charges of criminal possession of a weapon, menacing, and harassment.No one was injured but the Sheriff's office is asking any witnesses to call them at 607-753-3311.
