Customers disappointed to find no liquidation sale at Clay Toys R Us

Customers hoping to find liquidation deals at Toys R Us in Clay Thursday morning were disappointed to find a sign informing them no such sale was happening.

Customers hoping to find liquidation deals at Toys R Us in Clay Thursday morning were disappointed to find a sign informing them no such sale was happening.

That was despite several reports that indicated more than 700 Toys R Us stores around the country were expected to begin sales as part of the company's bankruptcy plan.

At the Toys R Us in Clay a sign at the door informed customers no liquidation sale was taking place and no further information was given, which upset some who had arrived early hoping to find a deal.

“We got up specifically to come here just to find out when we were here that liquidation isn’t even taking place. I’m very angry at Toys R Us," Donna Pluff, of Clay, said.

CNYCentral reached out to Toys R Us for comment, but we have not heard back as of this writing.

CBS News reports that the CEO of the company that makes Bratz dolls is trying to put together a last minute offer to buy up to 400 of Toys R Us' stores.
