Deputy injured in collision with deer on I-690 while responding to accident
LYSANDER, N.Y. —
An Onondaga County Sheriff's Deputy was injured when his vehicle collided with a deer on Interstate 690 in Lysander Wednesday morning.
The Sheriff's Office says Deputy Robert Renaud was en-route to the scene of a three-vehicle accident in Lysander when the deer crossed his path.
The impact caused the airbag to deploy and significantly damaged the vehicle, which came to rest in the median.
Deputy Renaud was treated at the scene for minor injuries. The deer was found deceased on the side of the highway.
