Robbery at Destiny USA leads to arrest

Syracuse Police Officers arrest a man suspected of robbery at the Destiny USA Mall.

Police say it happened around 8:24pm Thursday.

When officers arrived, they met with a female victim who said she was in the Mall with her friend when they were approached by a group of young men.

One of the men spoke with the victim, and then tried to reach his hand into the victims pocket, where she had her money. The victim fought with the suspect, but the suspect was able to grab the money and run away.

Police obtained a description of the suspect from the victim, and a male matching that description was located a short time later. The victim later identified the male as the suspect who robbed her.

As a result, Teon Jacobs Jr., 17, was arrested and charged with Robbery in the 2nd degree. Jacobs was lodged into the Onondaga County Justice Center.

This investigation is continuing. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Syracuse Police Department.
