Dog and nine puppies found abandoned

The Humane Association of Central New York is nursing an abandoned dog and her family back to health. The dog was found along with her nine puppies --- apparently left in an apartment after a tenant moved out. It is unknown how long this mom and her puppies were left in the closed up apartment. She is extremely underweight and weak from malnutrition, as she cared for her babies. The Humane Association took the dog family from the apartment manager, even though it is overcrowded. The mom and puppies will be adopted out, once they're healthy. For more on the 'Raise the Roof' fundraising appeal---which is reclaiming an unuseable portion of the West Taft Road kennel facility to accomodate more animals, www.thehumaneassociationofcny.org, or 415-1357.
