Domestic dispute in Syracuse leads to stabbing, arrest

Syracuse Police were called to 419 Hawley Avenue on Sunday night for a reported domestic dispute, an investigation which ended with the arrest of a 28-year-old man.
Officers arrived at the home at about 7:00 pm Sunday night and found a 28-year-old woman who had been stabbed in the leg. The investigation showed that 28-year-old James Baines had stabbed the victim, his girlfriend, during an argument.
The victim refused medical treatment, and her injuries were considered to be non-life threatening.
Baines was arrested and charged with felony assault in the second degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree.
