A popular classic rock act will help wrap up the festivities at the 2014 New York State Fair this summer.
The Doobie Brothers, whose hits include â??Listen to the Musicâ??, â??Black Waterâ??, â??What a Fool Believesâ??, and â??Long Train Runningâ??, will appear at the Fairâ??s Chevy Court stage on Monday, September 1. The Labor Day show will begin at 6:00 p.m. and will be the only Chevy Court concert that day.
â??Weâ??ve moved the concert time up to give more people a chance to come to the Fair for one more round of food, drink, and fun before the work week starts,â?? said Acting State Fair Director Troy Waffner. â??If the Fair marks the end of summer, this is the party to end on. And weâ??ve got a couple of special ideas for that day, that we will announce later, that will make the day even more special.â??
Acts previously announced for Chevy Court this summer include Celebrity Chef Anne Burrell on August 27, Hermanâ??s Hermits on August 25, Steppenwolf on August 25, Bowzerâ??s Rock & Roll Party on August 26, and Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes on August 29.
The 2014 State Fair runs from August 21 to September 1.
