Driver caught on camera illegally passing stopped school bus


Authorities in Central Square are looking for the driver of a truck who passed a stopped school bus with its red lights flashing Monday afternoon.

The truck blew past the bus on the shoulder of the road -- The image from the bus camera is making its way around Facebook as fellow bus drivers try to get the word out.

Here's what we know:

-- The incident in question happened on Route 11 near Marks Service Center Monday morning.

-- It's estimated 50,000 vehicles illegally pass New York State school buses every day.

-- If you're caught, a first conviction could mean a $400 fine.

-- If you're caught violating the rule for a second within 3 years, the fine is $1,000 and up to 180 days in jail.
