Driver charged with DWI after hitting teen riding bike in Oswego

An Oswego man is charged with DWI after hitting a teen riding a bike in the city on Wednesday.

Oswego police say the accident happened around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday night. Robert Allen Jr., 37, was driving on West Albany Street when he hit a 15 year-old bicyclist, who was riding down West Second Street.

The bicyclist was taken Upstate University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police say a subsequent investigation led to the arrest of Allen. He's charged with Driving While Intoxicated and Refusal of a Breath Screening Device.

Allen is being held at the Oswego Police Department pending arraignment.
