Driver in deadly Lake Placid crash pleads not guilty

A 20-year-old man has pleaded not guilty to charges connected to a high-speed chase in the Adirondacks that ended in a head-crash that killed a northern New York couple.

The Press-Republican of Plattsburgh reports that Trevor Sisto of Fort Covington entered his plea Monday in North Elba Town Court. He was charged in the July 24 chase from the village of Lake Placid to nearby Ray Brook, where his pickup truck slammed into a car, killing a couple from Potsdam and critically injuring their 11-year-old daughter.

State police have charged Sisto with unlawfully fleeing a police office and driving while ability impaired by drugs.

He also faces charges in Lake Placid Village Court.

Sisto is being held in the Essex County Jail on $100,000 bail.
