Driver of boat trailer involved in crash that killed Baldwinsville teacher ticketed

      Jennifer Miles, killed in crash

State police have ticketed the owner of a boat trailer whose tire flew off on Interstate 690 and killed a Baldwinsville school teacher on April 24.

Police ticketed Nevada West for an unregistered trailer and an uninspected trailer.

62 year-old West was pulling a 1988 boat trailer that had not been registered or inspected on I-690 in the Town of VanBuren. The tire flew off and struck the windshield of Jennifer Miles, killing her.

A four year-old child and Miles' one year-old son were also in the car when the accident occurred and received minor injuries.

Miles was a 4th grade teacher at McNamara Elementary School in Baldwinsville. She is survived by her husband Gregory and their son Logan John.
