Driver pleads guilty in deadly Onondaga Lake Parkway crash

The man behind a deadly road rage crash on Onondaga Lake Parkway admits his guilt.

Matthew Stephan pleaded guilty in Onondaga County Court Tuesday to a road rage incident last August that left an innocent North Syracuse driver dead.

Stephan admits he was trying to pass another car driven by 21-year-old John D'Amore when he lost control, slamming head-on into another car. The driver of that car, Mary Denny, 40, of North Syracuse, was killed. Denny's passenger Kristen Kelly was hurt in the crash.

Stephan pleaded guilty to a slew of charges including 2nd degree manslaughter, assault, reckless driving, speeding and crossing a yellow line. He will be sentenced to 2 1/2 to 7 years in prison. A sentencing date has not yet been set.
