Dryden man accused of cutting brake lines in a womanâ??s vehicle

Daniel J. McMillen

A Dryden man is accused of intentionally cutting the brake lines in a victimâ??s vehicle in the Town of Venice.

The Cayuga County Sheriffâ??s deputies say a woman reported Monday that she had experienced brake trouble with her car in Tompkins County the day before.

The vehicle was towed to a service facility where the damage was examined. It was determined that damage to the brake system was suspicious in nature.

Deputies determined that the brake system was intentionally tampered with on two separate occasions.

Daniel J. McMillen, 24, was charged with reckless endangerment and criminal mischief. He was arraigned in the Town of Aurelius Court and released pending further court action.

Deputies say McMillen and the victim were not strangers, but would not elaborate. They believe the act arose out of a dispute between the individuals.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Cayuga County Sheriffâ??s Office.
