E-Coli levels too high for swimming at Oneida Shores Park
If you're signed up to take part in the Wednesday evening session of the CNY Triathlon Club's practice at Oneida Shores Park, you don't need to bring your swimsuit.
The water at the Brewerton park is not safe for swimming, according to the Onondaga County Health Department. It found the water levels have tested too high for E-Coli bacteria, likely because of recent heavy rains and run-off.
The Health Department is working closely with the County Parks Department, and will take samples of the water until it returns to an acceptable level.
Oneida Shores Park is closed for swimming during the week, but it is supposed to open to the public on Saturday, June 15.
Stay with CNYCentral.com, we will continue to update you on the water levels.
The CNY Triathlon athletes will still run and bike Wednesday evening.
They are preparing for the Cazenovia Triathlon coming up in August.
