Early morning shooting, stabbing in Syracuse
SYRACUSE, N.Y. —
Syracuse Police say the two incidents are apparently unrelated, but they are investigating an early Sunday morning shooting and a stabbing in the city.
The shooting apparently happened in the 1400 block of North Salina Street about 3:15 Sunday morning. Police were answering a shots fired call there, and learned that a 16-year-old had been brought to Crouse Hospital. She is being treated for a gunshot to her lower right leg. She told police that she was hit while sitting in a car.
At about 4:40 a.m., police were called to Upstate University Hospital after a 30 year old man walked into the emergency room with several stab wounds to his neck and abdomen. He told investigators he was assaulted my a man, while on Washington Street near Rte 81.
