After more than a year of planning, the Empire Brewing Company's farmstead brewery in Cazenovia is one major step closer to reality. The Syracuse based brewery announced on Twitter Monday evening the Village Board in Cazenovia has approved the site plan and architectural designs for the new project.
Empire has been working for months to change the zoning of its land on Route 13. It was zoned residential, and special amendments to village code were needed to allow for the milling of flour, feed or grain in the village.
It is not clear when Empire will break ground on the site, or when the farmstand brewery will open.
