Enduring the cold to get your attention during tax season

Liberty Tax Service "waver" on February 5, Syracuse

The snow was coming down fast and furious in Syracuse's Eastwood neighborhood, and the person responsible for drumming up new business at Liberty Tax Service on James Street was out in the thick of it. The company employs "wavers" dressed in a Statue Of Liberty costume outside its storefronts to draw attention at tax time.

The company's YouTube page features this video interview with one of them.

A recent Craigslist post advertising a job in Michigan indicates those interested in the parttime job "must have reliable transportation and be willing to work in inclement weather." The ad lists the compensation at $8.50 per hour.
