Everson Museum kicks off 31st annual Festival of Trees
SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- The holiday season has officially arrived at the Everson Museum of Art in downtown Syracuse.
The museum hosted its Festival of Trees Preview Gala earlier this afternoon. However, the actual festival, where you can view all the displays and buy decorations, will kick off tomorrow, Friday, December 2nd.
The 31st annual festival runs through December 11th. Tickets for the event can be purchased for $8 or $5 for members of the museum.
This year the theme of the event is city lights meaning that each tree represents the renewal of downtown Syracuse.
"We have over 100 trees on display. Trees, wreaths, quilts, unique sculptures everything to represent city lights. City lights is our theme this year in honor of renovations downtown," said Nicole M. LeClair. the Director of Marketing at Everson.
During the festival more than 100 Christmas trees and wreaths will be decorated with ornaments, garland, lights, and more.
People attending the event can look at the decorations to get ideas for their home and even purchase the items on display. Each display is donated and all items are sold to benefit the Everson Museum.
More events like Santa Saturday and Teddy Bear Tea will be going on this weekend at the museum. For more information events at the Everson Museum click here.
