Happy Birthday Facebook!
The website that's shaped the way we network is celebrating its 10th anniversary.
The social media giant was launched in Founder and CEO's Mark Zuckerberg's Harvard dorm room on February 4, 2004. It's since grown into a worldwide platform that boasts more than 1.2 billion users.
Responsible for turning words like "friend" and "unfriend" into verbs and part of our daily lexicon, Facebook continues to make itself relevant.
The Pew Research Center reports nearly two-thirds of all adults, and almost three-quarters of teenagers ages 12 to 17 use Facebook regularly.
Most users log on to look at pictures and videos from friends, while others scroll through looking for humor.
Founder Zuckerberg took to his own page today, thanking users for allowing him to be part of the journey. He released a statement on the company's Facebook page laying out plans for the next ten years. He says he hopes to use the resources to help people across the world solve bigger and more important problems.
