This is prime time for leaf peepers across the state. According to the latest fall foliage report, widespread peak colors are being reported across large area of central New York. The best and brightest colors, alongside the largest color changes will be found across many higher elevations of south-central New York, north-central New York, the Finger Lakes, the Catskills and much of the North Country. The very highest elevations of the Adirondacks are now at past peak conditions. The city of Syracuse and many lower elevations of the Finger Lakes and towards Oswego have midpoint colors. While closer to Rochester and Buffalo, colors are still in early stages of changing.
