The Dewitt Police Department was called to the Highbridge Road area, near Lyndon Corners, on Sunday due to a woman running down the street in her underwear.

Units from the Dewitt Police Department, as well as the Manlius Police Department and responded. They found the victim, 47-year-old Ida Eskeli of Manlius, bleeding from her head and face. She said that she had been beaten and threatened with a knife by 57-year-old John Norderhus of 6940 Highbridge Road in Fayetteville.

Norderhus barricaded himself in his trailer. Negotiators from the Dewitt Police Department convinced him to surrender after a short time without incident.

According to the Dewitt Police Department, Norderhus and the victim were arguing over pictures that were allegedly taken by Eskeli of Norderhus. The suspect became enraged when Eskeli would not give up her cell phone that contained the images and is alleged to have punched her and held a knife to her throat.

The Dewitt Police arrested Norderhus on charges of Unlawful Imprisonment 1st, Menacing 2nd, Assault and Criminal Possession of a Weapon. He was ordered to be held at the Justice Center $20,000 cash or $20,000 bond after being arraigned in the Town of Dewitt Court.
