Feds find new violations at troubled James Square nursing home
SYRACUSE, N.Y. —
The State of New York is not alone when it comes to looking into operations at the James Square Health and Rehab Centre, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid services recently found more than half a dozen violations.
James Square is a 440 bed facility located on 918 James St.
A March 16th inspection report highlighted several incidents.
One involved a nurse who attempted to unclog a mans feeding tube with a paper clip and cotton swab. Another instance involved a resident with dementia going missing for several hours and it was never reported.
Recently the facility was raided by the state Attorney General's office as part of an investigation into patient care.
James Square insists operations with patients are continuing as normal.
