According to the Onondaga County Sheriff's Office, a motorcyclist is dead after crashing head on into an SUV on Onondaga Lake Parkway.
Deputies say five motorcycles were traveling southbound on Onondaga Lake Parkway at a high rate of speed when one of them lost control at a curve and went into the northbound lane of traffic. The motorcycle hit the SUV and exploded, causing the SUV to catch on fire.
The rider of the motorcycle, 26-year-old Kenneth J. Cullen of 108 Hale Ave in E. Syracuse, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The SUV driver, 35-year-old Tabarrie Tillie of 145 Fernwood Ave in Syracuse, was taken to the hospital with neck and back pain.
A second motorcycl
of 101 Bayberry Circle in Liverpool, was struck by debris from the impact and crashed his motorcycle in the roadway. He had been travelling near Cullin when the collision occurred.
Cukalevski was taken to the hospital with a foot injury and bruises.
Onondaga Lake Parkway was closed in both directions but is now open.
