Fire leaves Sennett family of six homeless with child on the way

The Kepple family

Fundraisers are planned for a Central New York couple with four young children who lost their home in a fire.

The Kepple family of Sennett escaped the blaze early Sunday morning dressed in only pajamas and coats. Two Facebook pages, the Kepple Family Fire Relief and a Fundraiser for the Kepple Family event page, have been created to help.

Donations also will be accepted from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Sennett Fire Department Station One. It's located at 3155 Turnpike Road in Sennett, about 25 miles west of Syracuse.

The mother is due to deliver the couple's fifth child on January 2. The family's new nursery, Christmas presents, and just about everything else the family owned was damaged by the fire.

The Kepples are staying with relatives, but hope to find a home to rent before Christmas.
