Firefighters battle fire at Manlius apartments

Firefighters have put out a large fire at the Carriage House apartments in Manlius.

Firefighters say it started sometime around 8am and was centered in the attic of one of the buildings.

They say when they arrived fire and thick black smoke were blowing from the roof. They say at one point the fire reached three buildings.

Some residents were still on the second floor when the fire broke out. Firefighters say they had to help some people out to safety.

The fire was put out quickly thanks to at least 100 firefighters on the scene.

None of the residents or firefighters were injured.
