For the first time, we are hearing from the state funded South Side co-op that closed two months after opening. After several unanswered requests last week, the 'Eat to Live' board of directors sent this statement to CNY Central.
"The board has begun its search for a new general manager, has this week been approved for EBT, an issue which negatively impacted the amount of daily sales, have amended the pro forma operating expenses, and is developing a staff training program. These measures will allow us to re-open in the spring with the most confidence in the co-op's success."
The Eat-to-Live co-op opened in October with the help nearly $400,000 in state aid and closed two months later without an explanation, until now.
