Thu, 18 Apr 2013 10:51:44 GMT — An Auburn woman was drunk and impaired by drugs when she crashed a car into another vehicle, injuring her three young children and two others riding with her. Police in Auburn say Michelle Andujar, 28, hit a parked sports utility vehicle in the area of 85 Wall Street, near Spring Street, around 11:20 p.m. Wednesday. The impact caused significant damage to the vehicles. Officers say the five children ranging in age from 1 to 10 weren't restrained and all suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Police say another woman, Stephanie L. Chetney, was riding in the front seat. She is the mother of the other two children, including a 4-year-old who was sitting on her lap. Police say Chetney was buffered from injury by the child on her lap who took the brunt of the impact. Andujar was charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated driving while intoxicated, endangering the welfare of a child, aggravated unlicensed operation and multiple traffic violations. Chetney was charged with child endangerment and disorderly conduct. Police say none of the injuries were life-threatening. The children were taken to Auburn Community Hospital for treatment.
