      Five Utica teenagers accused of assaulting and robbing a teen

      Five Utica teens were arrested after they allegedly attacked and robbed a teen of his skateboard earlier this week.

      Utica Police say they responded to a report of a robbery on the 1400 block of Whitesboro Street on Monday.

      Police say they spoke with the 16-year-old male victim. He told officers that he was skateboarding in a parking lot when 7-8 black males knocked him off his skateboard and kicked and punched him as they tried taking his book bag.

      The teen held on to his bag and the suspects ended up taking his skateboard instead.

      Police say the victim was taken to St. Luke's Hospital and treated for head and back injuries.

      Police say they arrested five teens for their involvement on Thursday. They are all charged with second degree robbery.
