      Five women, six men arrested on prostitution related charges in Utica

      Five women and six men face prostitution related charges in Utica.

      As part of the city's effort to aggressively fight prostitution, undercover police officers posed as "Johns" Tuesday morning.

      The following women were arrested:

      - Gloria E. Morrison, 37, of Whitesboro Street is charged with loitering for the purpose of engaging in prostitution and prostitution

      - Heather M. Evans, 38, of Oswego Street is charged with loitering for the purpose of engaging in prostitution, pedestrian walking in the roadway and prostitution

      - Christy Williams, 20, of Blandina Street is charged with loitering for the purpose of engaging in prostitution and prostitution

      - Lisa Martin, 47, of Thorn Street is charged with loitering for the purpose of engaging in prostitution and prostitution

      - Lisa Scharborough, 46, of Huntington Street is charged with loitering for the purpose of engaging in prostitution and pedestrian walking in the roadway

      Tuesday night, Utica police conducted an undercover prostitution operation targeting people engaging in patronizing prostitutes. Police say the operation involved a female officer posing as a prostitute. As a result of the operation, six men were arrested, all charged with patronizing a prostitute.

      The following men were arrested:

      - Mamed Shin, 28, of Elizabeth Street

      - Mon Ranamagar, 23, of Brinkerhoff Avenue

      - Dhan Gurung, 25, of Howard Avenue

      - Juan Alvarado, 33, of Conkling Avenue

      - San Rai, 29, of Catherine Street

      - Basan Rai, 31, of Dudley Avenue
