The Onondaga County Health Commissioner confirms two people in the county have died of complications from the flu. Both people died in the past two weeks - although health officials are not identifying who they are, or ever where they lived. They did have underlying health conditions.
Both of the people who died are described as "middle age adults" who came down with the H1N1 strain of flu. That strain has been hitting young and middle age adults very hard this season.
Health officials say the best way to prevent the flu is to get vaccinated, and they point out that it is not too late for a flu shot to be effective prevention.
