There will be some on and off precipitation today. Most of it will be in the form of a cold rain. As a bigger batch of precipitation moves in from the west there is the possibility that it might bring some brief wet ice pellets or wet snowflakes. However, there will be no accumulations and it will not create icy conditions anywhere in central New York.
Precipitation type will be different the further northward you travel in New York State. In fact, there is a higher risk for snow east of Lake Ontario and across the North Country. The best chances for accumulations will be over higher elevations and lawns and trees.
